Illusion for DJ, Piano and Orchestra

May 20, 2015

“Your love of life shall be love of your highest hope; and your highest hope shall be the highest thought of life. Your highest thought, however, you should receive as a command from me: man is something that shall be overcome.”
F. Nietzsche, Así habló Zaratustra

We are networks of illusion.
We consume, offer, create and destroy illusion.
It doesn’t complain, doesn’t wait, it only elevates us.
It’s meaningless and painful by itself, it is helpless and misleading.
It needs an engine to transform reality,
to become music and move forward.

April Falls

June 28, 2013

It is time,
truth is speaking,
truth is dreaming,
April is always coming as it is, which is no time. It falls, disappears and lights.

The Flight of the Turtle

June 29, 2011

“…now I know she was not fugitive nor gloomy,
was a message from the sun.”
G.K. Chesterton, Autobiography

The winds, one by one, begin to show. They move the shadows under their voices. And she, stopped, standing, is listening to the breeze hitting trees, mountains, rocks and animals. She is listening to the breeze hitting her ears.

She contemplates and waits.

When the time is right, she steps into the air and then, suspended, time stops.

I never saw her fly.

12 Caballeros

August 7, 2010

In mid-2009, during my honeymoon, a kalimba found me. Its resonance and kindness in allowing to be touched in a harmonious way by any mortal instantly captivated me.

Sometimes, while I doze, I play it and think. One night it took me to the following unfinished dream:

12 Caballeros
7 Tiros
quizás 8
3:30 a.m.
12 Gentlemen
7 Shots
maybe 9
3:30 a.m.
They cried.

El oro de los tigres se hace sombra
Because of a sacrifice.

Aparenta venganza
4 Gentlemen
No shots
Is revenge
3 Caballeros
Sin tiros

Ahora sin violencia ni destino,
esperan la llegada del hombre niño.
They wait and think.
Ya no hay amenaza, they are only dreamers.

Their children
Sus hijos

Dicen que cada tigre pidió 7 tiros para dejarse vencer.
The murderers sat down. Nunca olvidaron.

The Tree, the Song and its Shadow

May 8, 2010

Today I sat down on its shadow. I saw it moving, I saw it thinking.
I felt my thoughts merging with his thoughts.
Maybe he didn’t want me there. I assumed that he did.

I started to sing while it breathed and danced.
I heard it whisper, I paid attention and discovered he was singing then.
I closed my eyes, listened and fell sleep.

Always will be 19.
Always will be April.

I took a step forward,
someone else took the second for me,
I don´t remember the third one,
at least I saw the fourth.

I danced and dreamed
of mountains and seas, of clouds and battles.
I danced and sang,
step by step I thought walking was my freedom.

I remember the fifth almost fondly…

… I repeated it 40 times at least.
